MLB: Florida 4, Milwaukee 3
Josh Johnson struck out eight and allowed two runs over 7 2/3 innings Thursday in addition to hitting a three-run homer that lifted Florida past Milwaukee 4-3.
Johnson (5-1) limited the Brewers to five hits and Matt Lindstrom, despite giving up a lead-off single in the ninth, earned his 11th save.
The Marlins took three games in the four-game series. Johnson reduced his earn run average to 2.63.
Milwaukee starter Dave Bush (3-2) was hit on the elbow by a line drive off the bat of Hanley Ramirez in the first. Bush stayed on to pitch six innings, giving up four runs on seven hits.
Johnson’s home run carried more than 400 feet over the wall in center. It finished off a four-run fourth inning and helped hand the Brewers their sixth loss in their last seven road games.
