Matt Cain fanned seven over five rainy innings Thursday and San Francisco completed a doubleheader sweep with an abbreviated 4-1 win over Washington.
The game was halted by persistent showers with San Francisco having two on with two out in the top of the sixth.
San Francisco won the opening game of the doubleheader 5-1, with Randy Johnson earning the 300th victory of his career.
Cain (7-1) allowed a run on five hits to get the win. Ross Detwiler (0-2) was also still in the game when it ended, but he coughed up four runs on 10 hits.
The game was tied at 1-1 going into the fifth, but San Francisco moved in front on a lead-off double by Emmanuel Burriss and a one-out single by Aaron Rowand. Edgar Renteria followed with a single, sending Rowand to third. Pablo Sandoval then doubled home Rowand and Rich Aurilia's single delivered Renteria with the final run.
