A two-run double by Andre Ethier climaxed a two-out, ninth-inning rally Friday and gave the Los Angeles Dodgers a 4-3 win over Philadelphia.

The Phillies saw a seven-game winning streak come to an end when Brad Lidge, betrayed by his infield defense, failed in his bid to pick up his 14th save of the season.

Lidge came on to protect a one-run lead, which Philadelphia had built with the help of a four-hit outing from starter Jamie Moyer and a two-run double by Chase Utley in the fourth. Lidge (0-3) retired the first two batters in the ninth, but then gave up a single to Casey Blake and walked James Loney.

That brought up Russell Martin, who hit a ground ball to third baseman Pedro Feliz that should have ended the game. Feliz, however, booted the ball for an error that loaded the bases.

Ethier then hit Lidge’s first pitch to right for his two-run double.

The rally made a winner out of Jonathan Broxton (6-0), who allowed a hit in the top of the ninth but struck out the side.
