Joe Crede led off the ninth inning with a triple Wednesday, setting up the go-ahead run and helping push Minnesota to a 6-3 victory over Oakland.

After winning seven in a row, the Athletics dropped their second straight to the Twins, who had the second-worst road record in the American League at 8-19 going into the game

Oakland took a 3-2 lead into the eighth, but Jason Kubel tied it in that inning with his ninth homer of the season and the Twins produced a three-run ninth to put it away.

Crede touched off the big inning by hitting the first pitch from Andrew Bailey (4-1) to center. Alexi Casilla then ran for Crede and scored the go-ahead run on Delmon Young’s one-out single. Young moved to second on Mike Redmond’s ground out and advanced to third on a wild pitch.

Matt Tolbert drew a walk and another wild pitch allowed Young to score and Kubel to go to second. Brendan Harris singled in Kubel with the third run of the inning.

Matt Guerrier (3-0) got the win by retiring the final batter in the eighth and Joe Nathan worked the ninth for his 13th save.
