Tim Lincecum tossed a complete game Friday, striking out eight and driving in the decisive run in the San Francisco Giants' 3-0 inter-league win over Oakland.
Lincecum, the 2008 National League Cy Young Award winner, improved to 6-1 by recording his first shutout of the season. After striking out 262 batters last season, he has recorded 103 strikeouts this year in 88 innings.
He allowed seven hits, but walked only one.
San Francisco scored all of its runs in the fifth inning off Vin Mazzaro. They were the first runs given up by Mazzaro (2-1) in his major league career after throwing 13 2/3 shutout innings while winning his first two starts.
Pedro Sandoval led off the fifth with a bunt single and was erased at second on Juan Uribe's fielder's choice grounder. Nate Schierholtz singled Uribe to second and Emmanuel Burris drew a walk to load the bases.
Lincecum then singled in the game's first run and Aaron Rowand's base hit drove in two more.
