MLB: Los Angeles Dodgers 6, Texas 3
Casey Blake drove in four runs Sunday to lead the Los Angeles Dodgers to a 6-3 victory over the Texas Rangers.
Blake blasted a three-run homer in the third inning in support of Chad Billingsley (9-3) who picked up the win, allowing three runs — two earned — on five hits over seven innings.
Derek Holland (1-4) gave up four runs on five hits in five innings for the loss as the Rangers managed only six hits en route to their fourth loss in their last six games.
Blake’s other RBI was a sacrifice fly in the first inning that scored Juan Pierre, who walked to lead off the game and moved to third on bunts by Rafael Furcal and Orlando Hudson.
Texas responded with two runs in the bottom of the first on a ground out by Nelson Cruz and a throwing error by Furcal.
The lead lasted until the third when Blake put the Dodgers ahead 4-2 with his home run. Andruw Jones cut the lead to one run with a solo home run in the fourth but the Dodgers added a pair in the seventh on RBI singles by James Loney and Brad Ausmus.
