Hall molestation trial under way in Texas
A 23-year-old Fort Worth, Texas, woman alleges former Major League Baseball player Melvin Hall Jr. sexually molested her when she was 12 years old.
The woman testified Monday at Hall's trial in Fort Worth, the first of two trials he faces for allegedly molesting children he coached on a basketball team in the late 1990s, The Dallas Morning News reported Tuesday.
Hall, a former outfielder for the Chicago Cubs and New York Yankees, allegedly molested the woman and exposed himself to her younger brother when they were children and Hall was staying in their home as a friend of the family, she testified Monday.
I honestly had no idea anything was inappropriate at the time, the woman testified.
I looked up to him. I just thought this is how normal people act.
Hall, now 48, is charged with three counts of aggravated sexual assault of a child and two counts of indecency with a child. He faces a second trial on charges he allegedly molested another girl he coached in Fort Worth in the late 1980s when she was 14, The Fort Worth (Texas) Star-Telegram reported Tuesday.
