Hed leads the European golf event
Sweden’s Frederik Anderson Hed shot 6-under-par 65 Thursday to forge a one-stroke lead after one round of the Saint-Omer Open in Lumbres, France.
His bogey-free round included six birdies, the last coming at the par-4 15th hole, the fifth on the back nine, where it began.
I had a very pleasing day at the office, he said on the European Tour’s Web site after his best round this season.
I only hit a couple of bad tee shots all day, and even managed to get away with them. I just hope I can keep going for all four rounds this week.
Hed leads Australians Tony Carolan and Michael Curtain.
Carolan lost a chance to tie Hed overnight with a bogey at the par-4 18th.
Spain’s Carlos Del Moral and England’s James Morrison both shot 4-under 67 and are tied for fourth place after the first 18 holes.
