UCLA tennis player in coma after attack
UCLA tennis player Jeffrey
Jake Fleming was in a coma at a Texas hospital after he was attacked during a concert, KTLA TV, Los Angeles, said.
The station reported Fleming, 20, who went to a Rascal Flats concert with friends last Saturday, was punched in the face and knocked to the ground by an unknown assailant after the concert as his group was waiting for a taxi.
He suffered bleeding and swelling in his brain and a medically-induced coma has left him in critical condition at the Baylor University Medical Center in Dallas.
Fleming was planning to spend his summer teaching tennis and taking classes at UCLA.
His father told the television station that his son was completely caught off guard and that the family is staying in Dallas until his son is well enough to return home.
A second person also was attacked but suffered only minor injuries.
Dallas police are still looking for the one suspect.
