Report: Ming’s foot fracture not healed
Houston Rockets center Yao Ming is considering other treatment options for his broken left foot, the Houston Chronicle said.
The Chronicle report said the decision concurs with team doctors after a bone scan late Wednesday showed Yao’s hairline fracture has not healed since it occurred in a May 8 playoff game against the Los Angeles Lakers.
The 7-foot center returned to Houston this week for tests he hoped would clear him to resume workouts.
He had flown home to China for several weeks.
Yao is not experiencing any pain in his left foot, team physician Tom Clanton said in a statement.
However, the results from the CT and bone scans we performed over the past two days indicate that the hairline fracture has not responded to the degree that we expected. We will review a variety of treatment options before proceeding.
Yao has been plagued by various injuries in seven NBA seasons, including a hairline fracture in his right leg.
