Fred Funk, seeking his first Champions Tour win of 2009, shot an 8-under 64 Friday and had the lead when the Dick’s Sporting Goods Open was suspended.

Play was delayed twice in the opening round and was eventually halted for good after the second stoppage reached three hours.

Jay Haas and Lonnie Nielson were tied for second at 6-under 66 and Mike Hulbert was also at 6-under with one hole remaining.

There were still 24 players on the En-Joie Golf Club course when the action was stopped.

Tom Kite, D.A. Weibring, Andy Bean and Gary Hallberg all shot 67 and Jeff Roth was at 5-under with six holes remaining.

Bernhard Langer, the leading money winner on the Champions Tour this year, is competing this week in the European Open.
