MLB: New York Yankees 4, New York Mets 2

Mariano Rivera became the second reliever in baseball to earn 500 career saves Sunday in the New York Yankees' 4-2 Subway Series win over the New York Mets.
After Rivera came in with two runners on in the eighth and struck out Omir Santos, he held the Mets to one hit in the ninth for his 18th save of the season.
Only the Milwaukee Brewers' Trevor Hoffman has more career saves, with 571.
The Yankees, who won their fifth straight, got all the runs they needed in the first inning. Mark Teixeira drove in Derek Jeter and Nick Swisher with a one-out double and Jorge Posada drove in Teixeira with a sacrifice fly.
Yankees starter Chien-Ming Wang, who entered the game 0-5, got his first victory.
The Mets scored both their runs in the fourth. Fernando Martinez doubled to left-center to score Gary Sheffield, who had walked, and Luis Castillo singled to left to score Martinez.
Mets' starter Livan Hernandez (5-3) gave up three runs on three hits and five walks in seven innings.
