Roy Oswalt went the distance, giving up one run on two hits Monday, and the Houston Astros beat San Diego 3-1.
Oswalt (4-4), who has 17 career complete games, also had two of the Astros' nine hits. He issued two walks and struck out seven.
After letting in a run on a wild pitch in the fourth inning, he retired 18 straight batters the rest of the way.
Ivan Rodriguez homered and Lance Berkman and Carlos Lee each contributed two hits for Houston, which has won four of its last five games.
Scott Hairston and Everth Cabrera had the two hits for San Diego, which lost for the 11th time in its last 16 games.
Padres' starter Josh Geer (1-3) went seven innings, giving up three runs with no walks and two strikeouts to take the loss.
