Carlos Pena drove in the winning run with a sacrifice fly Tuesday to give Tampa Bay a 3-2 victory over the Chicago White Sox.
Bobby Jenks’s (2-3) third blown save of the season deprived starter Clayton Richard of a victory despite an outstanding outing. Richarg gave up one run on four hits and two walks through eight innings for Chicago.
Fellow rookie pitcher Jeff Niemann (9-4) allowed two runs on eight hits in eight innings for Tampa Bay, which has won four of its last five games.
