Carlos Pena drove in the winning run with a sacrifice fly Tuesday to give Tampa Bay a 3-2 victory over the Chicago White Sox.
Bobby Jenks's (2-3) third blown save of the season deprived starter Clayton Richard of a victory despite an outstanding outing. Richarg gave up one run on four hits and two walks through eight innings for Chicago.
Fellow rookie pitcher Jeff Niemann (9-4) allowed two runs on eight hits in eight innings for Tampa Bay, which has won four of its last five games.
Jason Bartlett and Dioner Navarro each had two hits and a run for the Rays, and Gordon Beckham was 3-for-4 with an RBI for Chicago.
