Spain's Alberto Contador won his second Tour de France in three years Sunday as the race wrapped up its 21st and final phase in Paris.
Contador finished a comfortable 4 minutes, 11 seconds ahead of the second-place finisher, Andy Schleck of Luxembourg, while Contador's Astana teammate, American Lance Armstrong, completed a nice comeback to finish third overall, 5 minutes, 24 seconds behind Contador, race officials said.
The 101-mile 21st phase, ending in a sprint along Paris' Champs-Elysees, was won by British rider Mark Cavendish, who set a record among that country's cyclists with his 10th win of a Tour de France stage, eclipsing the mark of Barry Hoban, The Guardian reported.
Another Briton, Bradley Wiggins, finished fourth in the overall standings.
