Carolina Panthers starting defensive tackle Maake Kemoeatu could miss this NFL season after he suffered a torn Achilles’ tendon Monday, the team said.
Kemoeatu, 30, was injured during the Panthers first training camp practice Monday morning, in a non-contact drill. Carolina officials said they’d update his condition Tuesday.
Kemoeatu started all 14 of the games in which he played last season. In 46 games with the Panthers, including 40 starts, he’s had 138 tackles.
Before joining Carolina, Kemoeatu played four seasons for the Baltimore Ravens.
