Brian Vickers signs Red Bull extension
Red Bull Racing has signed Sprint Cup driver Brian Vickers to a multiyear contract extension.
No terms were disclosed.
Vickers, 25, won last Sunday’s CARFAX 400 in Brooklyn, Mich., his first win in 87 Sprint Cup races.
He has been with Red Bull since its first year in Sprint Cup Series competition in 2007 and has earned six pole positions this season.
I’m thrilled, Vickers said.
This has been a long time coming, and there is nowhere else I would rather be. I am looking forward to building on what we have started the last couple of years.
Brian has been here from the beginning, said Red Bull Vice President and General Manager Jay Frye.
He continues to be a vital piece of the puzzle with regards to our ultimate goal of building Red Bull Racing into a consistent contender.
Vickers is 13th in the latest points standings, 12 behind No. 12 Mark Martin.
