Charlie Haeger and two relievers combined for a five-hit shutout Saturday in the Los Angeles Dodgers' 2-0 win over the Chicago Cubs.
Both Dodger runs came on solo homers -- one by Matt Kemp with one out in the bottom of the second, the other by Casey Blake with two outs in the fourth.
Haeger (1-1), making his first start this season, surrendered three hits in seven innings with four walks and seven strikeouts.
Jonathan Broxton allowed a hit but fanned two batters in the eighth, and George Sherrill preserved the shutout, despite a walk and a hit in the top of the ninth.
Kemp had two of the five hits for the Dodgers, who have won the first three contests in the four-game series.
The Cubs, who have lost five of six, put a runner on base in each of the first five innings, but could not get a runner past second.
Starer Ted Lilly (9-8), the losing pitcher, gave up two runs on three hits and had five strikeouts in six innings.
