Ravens’ Fein charged with assault
Baltimore Ravens rookie Anthony
Tony Fein has been charged with assaulting a police officer at a restaurant in the city’s Inner Harbor, authorities said.
Fein, 27, a linebacker, was arrested Sunday at Johnny Rocket’s while police were investigating reports a group of men were passing around a silver object suspected of being a gun, police spokesman Anthony Guglielmi said.
Fein, who was with the group of men, allegedly shoved an officer in the chest, The Baltimore Sun reported Monday. The suspected gun turned out to be a silver cell phone.
Security at the Inner Harbor has been tight because of gang-related activities, including shootings Aug. 15 that left two men injured, police said.
Fein, an Iraqi war veteran, was charged with misdemeanor assault.
Like all citizens, Tony will get his due process and have his opportunity to explain. There are two sides to every story, Ravens spokesman Kevin Byrne said.
