NFL: Miami 10, New Orleans 7
Patrick Cobbs scored on a 6-yard run Thursday and the Miami Dolphins held New Orleans without an offensive touchdown in downing the Saints 10-7.
The teams combined to punt the ball away 15 times and each side turned it over once in a lackluster exhibition season finale.
The scoring run by Cobbs came with 6:53 left in the second quarter and gave the Dolphins a 10-0 halftime lead.
New Orleans could score only on a 55-yard punt return by Rod Harper midway through the third period.
Drew Brees, who led the league in passing for the Saints last season, did not play.
Miami concluded a 4-0 exhibition season. The Dolphins will open at Atlanta.
New Orleans (3-1) begins its season at home against Detroit.
