C.J. Watson remains a Warrior
Guard C.J. Watson has signed a contract to stay with the Golden State Warriors, the NBA team said Wednesday.
The Warriors didn’t say how much it will pay the restricted free agent or for how many years he is signed.
Watson averaged 9.5 points, 2.5 rebounds and 2.7 assists in 77 games for Golden State last season. He shot almost 46 percent from the field and 87 percent from the free-throw line.
We are happy that C.J. will be returning to our team next season, Warriors General Manager Larry Riley said.
He has taken full advantage of his opportunities since being called up from the D-League two seasons ago and has worked hard to make himself into a quality NBA player.
The 25-year-old former Tennessee standout has averaged 7.8 points, 2.2 rebounds and 2.2 assists per game in 109 NBA games.
