MLB: Seattle 8, Texas 3

Ken Griffey Jr. went 3-for-4 and drove in two runs Saturday as Seattle's 8-3 win over Texas ended the Mariners' five-game losing streak.

Ichiro Suzuki hit a double and homer, moving him to within two hits of becoming the first major league player ever to have nine straight 200-hit seasons.

Franklin Gutierrez and Jack Hannahan each drove in a pair of runs for the Mariners, while Adrian Beltre batted in one.

Brandon Morrow (1-4) got the win after holding Texas to five hits and three runs over five innings.

Losing pitcher Kevin Millwood (10-10) surrendered five runs on eight hits and gave up two walks while striking out two in 3 2/3 innings.

The loss pushed Texas to three games behind Boston in the American League wild-card race and 5 1/2 back of the Los Angeles Angels in the AL West.

Julio Borbon homered and drove in all three runs for Texas, which had won seven of nine.

The game was called in the bottom of the ninth because of rain.
