Warrior’s Jackson fined $25,000 by NBA

September 15, 2009

Golden State forward Stephen Jackson has been fined $25,000 by the NBA for public statements detrimental to the league.

Jackson told the media on Aug, 28 he would like to be traded to Cleveland, New York or one of the teams in Texas.

It is forbidden by the NBA for players to make trade requests publicly. Ron Artest was fined in 2005-06 for requesting a trade from Indiana through the media.

Jackson signed a multiyear extension with Golden State in November last year.
