Negedu listed as stable after collapse
Tennessee college basketball player Emmanuel Negedu has been listed in stable condition after collapsing in Knoxville, officials said.
Negedu, a sophomore forward, collapsed shortly after 4 p.m. Monday at the Neyland-Thompson Sports Complex and did not register a pulse when UT trainers arrived at his side. He was revived with a defibrillator, The Knoxville (Tenn.) News Sentinel reported.
An unnamed source in the Tennessee athletic department told the newspaper that after regaining consciousness, Negedu was taken to UT Medical Center by ambulance.
The News Sentinel said the player had just finished a weight room workout and was leaving the sport complex when he collapsed.
