St. Louis Rams linebacker David Vobora was suspended Monday for four games by the NFL for violating its policy on performance-enhancing substances.
Vobora, 23, had started each of the Rams' first three games this season and totaled 15 tackles. The second-year linebacker had 15 tackles last year in eight games.
Dave's situation is unfortunate,
said Rams Coach Steve Spagnuolo. He has been a vital part of our team, and we are disappointed that we will be without him for the next four games. However, we respect the league's decision in this matter.
The suspension for Vobora is effective immediately. He will miss St. Louis's games against San Francisco, Minnesota, Jacksonville and Indianapolis before being eligible to return to the Rams' roster Oct. 26.
