MLB: Milwaukee 12, St. Louis 6

Ryan Braun and Craig Counsell keyed a late-game offensive explosion Friday that brought Milwaukee a 12-6 win over St. Louis.

The Cardinals owned a 6-1 lead going into the seventh, but the Brewers scored sixth times in that inning and added five more in the eighth.

Braun had a two-run double that highlighted the seventh inning and Counsell singled in a run in both the seventh and eighth.

Four of the 11 runs in those two innings came in on wild pitches.

Milwaukee halted a four-game losing streak.

Starter Braden Looper (14-7) left after six innings and became the winner when the Brewers took the lead in the seventh. He gave up six runs on 10 hits.

Reliever Kyle McClellan (4-4) faced five batters in the seventh and got only one of them out while taking the loss.
