Ricky Stanzi passed for a 296 yards and three touchdowns Saturday to lead 17th-ranked Iowa to a 24-21 win over Arkansas State.
Marvin McNutt caught four passes for 121 yards and two TDs for the Hawkeyes, who are off to their first 5-0 start in 14 years.
Corey Leonard completed 22-of-40 passes for 216 yards, two TDs and an interception for Arkansas State (1-3). The Red Wolves got 76 yards and a touchdown on eight catches by Brandon Thompkins.
Iowa took a 14-0 lead on its first two possessions with Stanzi throwing a 33-yard touchdown pass to Trey Stross and a 41-yard touchdown pass to McNutt.
