MLB: Minnesota 5, Kansas City 4

Delmon Young's two hits and three RBI Saturday led Minnesota to a 5-4 win over Kansas City that pulled the Twins into a first-place tie in the AL Central.

Young's three-run double put Minnesota up 4-0 with one out in the bottom of the sixth.

Later, Michael Cuddyer's solo homer broke a 4-4 tie with one out in the eighth, providing the game-winning run.

Joe Mauer had one RBI, while Orlando Cabrera had two hits for the Twins, who enter the final game of the season in a first-place tie with Detroit in the American League Central with one game left in the regular season.

The winner was Jon Rauch (5-1).

Closer Joe Nathan earned his 47th save with a 1-2-3 ninth.

Alex Gordon's two-run eighth-inning homer led Kansas City.

One of two hits by Mike Jacobs was a solo homer, and Mitch Maier hit a non-RBI double play ground out for the Royals, who have lost four of five.

The losing pitcher was Dusty Hughes (0-2).
