October 5, 2009
Cincinnati Reds pitcher Homer Bailey was named Monday the National League Player of the Week for the final week of the regular season.
Bailey, a 23-year-old right-hander, had a 2-0 record with an ERA of 0.69 during the closing seven days. Over 13 innings, he had 14 strikeouts and four walks.
