U.S. women’s 4×400 team disqualified
HELSINKI (Reuters) – The U.S. women’s 4×400 meters relay
team were disqualified in their first round heat at the world
championships on Saturday for several lane infractions.
Officials said the defending champions were appealing
against the decision.
On Friday the American men’s 4×100 meters relay team, also
the 2003 champions, were eliminated when the first two runners
dropped the baton between them.
