HOUSTON (Reuters) - Veteran all-star pitcher Roger Clemens says he will decide among four teams if he seeks to extend his 22-season major-league career next year.
"It's Houston, Texas, New York and Boston," Clemens told a banquet in Fort Worth, Texas. "I love all those places, they have great players that I respect very much."
Clemens, 43, who lives in Texas, has pitched for the Houston Astros for the past two seasons. He played 13 years with the Boston Red Sox and won two World Series rings in five seasons with the New York Yankees.
Last season Clemens posted a 13-8 record with an outstanding 1.87 earned run average but struggled late in the year as the Astros lost the World Series to the Chicago White Sox. His 341 career victories are the most by any current pitcher.
