Ljubicic replaces injured Nadal at Chennai Open

MUMBAI, India (Reuters) – World number nine Ivan Ljubicic
will replace injured French Open champion Rafael Nadal in the
ATP Chennai Open draw, tournament organizers said on Tuesday.
The Spanish world number two withdrew from the $400,000
event starting on January 2 due to a lingering foot injury that
also forced him toe pull out of the year-ending Masters Cup in
Shanghai last month.
The 26-year-old Ljubicic, who inspired Croatia to their
maiden Davis Cup title this year, has been given a wild card
entry into the singles draw.
