Hale having injury assessed
TURIN (Reuters) – U.S. snowboard cross rider Jayson Hale
was being assessed by doctors on Tuesday after suffering a knee
injury in training.
“Jayson Hale missed his landing coming off the “Wu Tang”
jump toward the end of the snowboard cross course and sustained
a right knee injury,” a statement from the United States
Olympic Committee said.
“The extent of the injury is unknown at this time and he is
being transported to Sestriere for further evaluation.”
Hale, 20, was third in the 2005 snowboard cross world
championships. Snowboard cross, making its Games debut, starts
in Bardonecchia on Thursday with the men’s qualifiers and
