Pyleva to be questioned by Turin magistrates

February 17, 2006

TURIN (Reuters) – Russian biathlete Olga Pyleva, expelled
from the Winter Olympics following a positive doping test, will
be questioned by Turin magistrates, judicial sources said on
Friday.

An agreement before the Games between the Italian
government and the International Olympic Committee meant that
any athlete failing a drugs test would be liable to a criminal
prosecution.

Pyleva, 30, tested positive for a banned stimulant in
pre-Games testing.
