February 19, 2006

FRISCO, Texas (Reuters) – The U.S. enjoyed a 4-0 victory
over Guatemala on Sunday, their third straight win as they
prepare for the soccer World Cup finals in June.

Midfielder Chris Klein scored once and assisted in two
other goals in the friendly played in sub-zero temperatures in
the Pizza Hut Park.

Goals by Bel Olsen and Brian Ching gave the U.S. a 2-0 lead
at the break and Eddie Johnson got on the scoresheet just after
the interval before Klein chipped in with a fourth.

Guatemala captain Julio Giron and Juan Carlos Plata both
announced their retirement after the game.
