Woods to play at Wentworth’s World Match Play event

LONDON (Reuters) – Tiger Woods will play in the World Match
Play Championship at Wentworth for only the second time in his
career.
The world number one will chase the first prize of 1
million pounds ($1.75 million), the richest in golf, at the
elite 16-man event played at Virginia Water in Surrey from
September 14-17.
“The World Match Play Championship is in its 43rd year and
has a great history with some awesome winners,” Woods was
quoted as saying on the European Tour’s official Web site on
Tuesday.
“I would love to win it and hope that this year will be my
year.”
