Clippers crush Suns to set up Game Seven decider
LOS ANGELES (Reuters) – The Los Angeles Clippers extended
their surprising season with a 118-106 win over the Phoenix
Suns on Thursday to even their best-of-seven Western Conference
second-round playoff series at 3-3.
Clippers power forward Elton Brand had another outstanding
game, scoring 30 points, grabbing 11 rebounds and dishing out
five assists. His performance was complemented by a
hot-shooting Corey Maggette, who scored 25 points.
Los Angeles scored at a blistering pace, passing the
100-point mark when Maggette sank a three-point jumper with
8:54 remaining in the fourth quarter.
The Clippers shot 61.5 percent from the field, while the
Suns fired accurately on 43.7 percent of their shots, led by
Shawn Marion with 34 points.
The deciding Game Seven of the series is in Phoenix on
Monday.
