Bernardini wins Preakness, Barbaro hurt
BALTIMORE (Reuters) – Bernardini captured the Preakness
Stakes on Saturday after Kentucky Derby winner Barbaro pulled
up in the first quarter-mile with a hind leg injury.
Sweetnorthernsaint finished second and Hemingway’s Key was

The winning time of 1:54 3/5 was well off the Preakness
record of 1:53.2/5 set by Louis Quatorze in 1996 and Tank’s
Prospect in 1985.
