New York, Boston to host Olympic marathon trials

INDIANAPOLIS, Indiana (Reuters) - New York and Boston will host U.S. marathon trials for the 2008 Beijing Olympics, USA Track & Field announced on Thursday.
New York will be the site of the men's trials the weekend of November 2, 2007, and Boston will host the women's on Sunday, April 20, 2008.
The men's race will be either the Friday or Saturday before the Sunday New York City Marathon.
The women will compete the day before the Boston Marathon.
Neither race will use the courses of the annual marathons.
The New York trials will be over a five-mile loop course in Central Park. Boston will use a six-mile loop course.
The top three finishers will qualify for the Beijing Games.
