Defending champion Blake upset by Hidalgo in New Haven
NEW HAVEN, Connecticut (Reuters) - Defending champion James
Blake squandered six match points before losing 2-6 7-6 7-6 to
Spain's Ruben Ramirez Hidalgo in the second round of the New
Haven event on Tuesday.
The American world number five had two match points in the
second-set tiebreak, let slip a 5-2 lead in the third and a 4-1
lead in the final-set tiebreak to allow Hidalgo, 57th in the
rankings, to clinch victory.
