U.S. Open start delayed by rain

NEW YORK (Reuters) – The start of the 2006 U.S. Open has
been delayed by rain.

Play had been due to begin on the outside courts at 1500
GMT.

When play does begin, women’s second seed Justine
Henin-Hardenne of Belgium is due to take on Maria Elena Camerin
of Italy in the first match on Arthur Ashe Court.
