COL BKB: Ohio St. 82, Iowa 63
Freshman Greg Oden hit 12-of-13 shots Saturday night, powering the seventh-ranked Ohio State Buckeyes to an 82-63 Big Ten win over the Iowa Hawkeyes.
Oden piled up a season-best 29 points and a game-high 10 rebounds in helping the Buckeyes (16-3, 4-1) to their sixth win in seven games. Iowa lost for the third time in four games and sagged to 10-9 overall and 2-3 in the conference.
The Hawkeyes were within four points of Ohio State with 11:04 to play when the Buckeyes raced off on a 21-2 romp that ended with an Oden dunk with 5:25 to go. Iowa managed to cut the deficit to 15 but got no closer.
Ron Lewis chipped in 12 points for the Buckeyes and Daequan Cook had 11.
Tyler Smith scored 21 points for Iowa. He was backed by a 15-point effort from Adam Haluska.
