Cavaliers-Pistons Series Opens Tonight
AUBURN HILLS, Mich. – The Cleveland Cavaliers and Detroit Pistons start their best of seven NBA Eastern Conference final tonight with game one on the Pistons home floor. The Pistons finished the season as the number-one seed in the East with the Cavs number-two. A year ago they met in the conference semifinals with Detroit prevailing in seven games.
Pistons’ coach Flip Saunders says the tough series last year should help his team as the Pistons know they’ll have their hands full with LeBron James and company. This is Detroit’s fifth-straight visit to the conference final while the Cavaliers are in the finale for just the third time in franchise history.
During the regular season, the Pistons won three of the four encounters.
The opening game of the Western Conference final was yesterday and the Spurs beat Utah 108-100. Game two in that best of seven affair will take place in San Antonio tomorrow night with game two of the Cleveland-Detroit series taking place Thursday in Auburn Hills, Mich.
