The social networking Web site Facebook has a new claim to fame -- the creation of its first boy band, a British quartet of classical musicians.
The four, who met on Facebook and share a love of classical music, have signed an album deal with Universal, Britain's Sunday Telegraph reported.
Stephen Bowman, 25, from Bath; Jules Knight, 25, from Sussex; Dominic Tighe, 24, from Devon; and Oliver Baines, 24, from Wiltshire; met through friends on Facebook. They quickly formed the band Blake, named after the poet William Blake.
They then tracked down Daniel Glatman -- former boss of the boy band Blue --through the site, and he agreed to be their manager.
Several music acts have been launched on MySpace, Facebook's rival. But Blake is the first for Facebook, the Telegraph said.
