HOT Telecom To Launch VoIP Using C-COR’s OSS Solution for Subscriber Management; Part of Multi-Year, Multi-Vendor Project Headed By Lucent Technologies

November 8, 2004

C-COR Incorporated (Nasdaq:CCBL), a global provider of broadband communications transport products, software systems, and technical services, today announced that HOT Telecom, an Israeli-based cable telephony consortium formed by Golden Channels, Tevel, and Matav Cable Systems Media (Nasdaq:MATV; TASE:MATV), will use C-COR’s Service Activation Manager or SAM (formerly, Alopa Network’s MetaServ(TM)) as part of the multi-vendor OSS (Operations Support System) solution being deployed by Lucent Technologies (NYSE:LU) for HOT Telecom’s VoIP (Voice over Internet Protocol) network. The SAM is scheduled for deployment before the end of calendar 2004 and will support one of the largest PacketCable VoIP roll-outs outside North America.

C-COR’s SAM automates the entire subscriber life cycle–from equipment qualification through customer support–and integrates all layers of the IT infrastructure, including billing, order entry, customer care, and network management. The SAM’s open platform minimizes the development requirements, costs, and time to integrate into existing network infrastructures. It is a component of C-COR’s flagship Integrated Services Management (ISM(TM)) System, cable’s most comprehensive suite of OSS solutions. In addition to subscriber management capabilities, C-COR’s ISM also offers network service, mobile workforce, bandwidth capacity, and network security management modules and serves a worldwide customer base.

“Lucent’s HOT Telecom project team brings together a number of communication technology leaders with complementary capabilities,” stated Gerhard Nederlof, C-COR’s Corporate Vice President of EuroPacific Business. “Our subscriber-centric SAM will be key in delivering the quality of service that retains and gains VoIP subscribers for HOT Telecom. We have the product, commitment, and track record to make that happen.”

“Lucent carefully selected its project partners to support HOT Telecom as it builds its VoIP network and back office,” said Dave Dial, President, Lucent Cable Solutions. “Our agreement with C-COR underscores Lucent’s commitment to the cable market and the importance of network integration services that are critical for service providers, like HOT Telecom, who are building next-generation VoIP networks.”
