Technology Review’s Emerging Technologies Conference to Explore the Next Big Ideas Coming From Top Enterprise Labs
Many of the world’s leading companies invest significant resources developing the next wave of innovation and technology within their own research labs. Technology Review’s 2007 Emerging Technologies Conference, being held September 25-28 at MIT, will gather research chiefs from Cisco, HP, Intel and Novartis to answer the question, “What’s the Big Idea?”
To get an inside look at the world of innovation within the research labs of some of the world’s largest businesses, the 2007 Emerging Technologies Conference will present a distinguished keynote panel featuring:
Prith Banerjee, incoming Senior Vice President, Research, and Director, HP Labs;
Andrew A. Chien, Vice President of Research, Intel;
Mark Fishman, President, Novartis Institutes for BioMedical Research; and
Guido Jouret, Chief Technology Officer, Emerging Markets Technology Group, Cisco Systems.
“While emerging companies get a lot of attention for introducing innovative technologies, large companies are also investing heavily in innovation that creates competitive advantage or new market opportunities,” said Jason Pontin, editor-in-chief and publisher of Technology Review. “Each of the companies represented on this panel has a strong track record of innovation, and we’re looking forward to learning what is on the horizon.”
The 2007 Emerging Technologies Conference will also explore the next big ideas in areas such as consumer generated media, alternative energy and neuroengineering, as well as the issues facing women working in technological fields. In addition, the conference showcases the annual TR35, a unique group of innovators under 35 years old who have developed technologies that will have a profound effect on the world.
