Yesterday, MySpace revealed that over 29,000 sex offenders were registered on their site, allowing them to search the profiles of thousands of potential victims. Social networking expert, Steve Chazin, Vice President at Tubes, a Boston-based social sharing provider, is available to comment on the implications of public social networking sites like MySpace which allow anyone -- including registered sex offenders -- to browse the public profiles of potential victims, and alternatives that allow people to share privately with friends online without exposing themselves to predators.
