First Eclipse Plugin for Visual Development of Web Application UIs
Posted on: Monday, 4 August 2003, 06:00 CDT
INNOOPRACT announces the launch of its Eclipse Plugin for easy visual development of HTML-based User Interfaces. As a supporting member of the Eclipse Consortium, INNOOPRACT enables developers at all skill levels to profit from web technologies. The Release Candidate of the Plugin is available at www.w4toolkit.com.
"With the Eclipse Plugin and our W4 technology we strive towards two principal aims: Firstly, we offer relief from the complexity of building web enabled user interfaces for current java developers. Secondly, we enable those developers and companies who cannot afford time and money to build web-based applications to profit from pain-free distribution, easier integration and central administration. There are still countless Visual Basic and Access applications that companies would like to replace with web-based solutions. For both groups our Eclipse Plugin offers new prospects," states Jochen Krause, founder and Managing Director of INNOOPRACT.
By combining the powerful Eclipse IDE with INNOOPRACT's Plugin a simpler approach to web UI development has emerged, available so far only with Visual Basic running on fat clients. Besides ease of use for the developer, INNOOPRACT's W4 technology offers active cross browser support for all major browsers. User Interfaces can be created with flexible building blocks of widgets that can be extended, composed and easily reused. In future releases a multi-channel-support for Web, Swing and SWT will be offered. W4 technology has been successfully integrated in existing applications by using adapters.
