Move Networks Expands Management Team As Industry Demand for High Quality Online Video Soars

AMERICAN FORK, Utah, July 26 /PRNewswire/ — Move Networks, the leader in providing continuous long form and live video via the Internet, today announced that it has added 4 senior members to its executive team. Greg Smith has joined as CTO, Douglas Parrish as senior vice president of operations; David Rice as west coast vice president and Kevin Conlan, as east coast vice president.

    The new executives include:     — Douglas Parrish, senior vice president of operations: Parrish joins       Move Networks from Disney, where he served as executive vice president       and Chief Technology Officer for the Walt Disney Internet Group.  In       this capacity, Parrish was responsible for overseeing the technology       platform, infrastructure, applications, and new product engineering       for all of The Walt Disney Company’s Internet and wireless properties,       including Disney.com, ESPN.com, ABC.com, ABCNEWS.com, and many others.       Previously, he served as CIO of Polaroid Corporation’s consumer       imaging business and director of Polaroid’s worldwide information       technology and eBusiness strategy. He has also served as CIO Nestle’s       US-based, bottled water business – The Perrier Group of America-and       Campbell’s Soup’s Pepperidge Farm Unit. In 2004, was named one of the       computer industry’s outstanding technology executives by Computerworld       magazine as one of their Premier 100 IT Leaders.     — Greg Smith, CTO:  Smith has 13 years of technology and product       development experience in digital media.  Prior to Move, he served as       vice president of technologies at All Media Guide, a leading       business-to-business provider of entertainment descriptive content and       content management technology.  Before that, Smith worked at Edgix and       PanAmSat,. Smith has led the development of bleeding edge technologies       in content distribution, media recognition, and video streaming with       deployed technologies in the Globalstar constellation and on       PlayStation gaming devices.  He holds a BSE degree in Mechanical and       Aerospace Engineering from Princeton University and graduate       certificates in advanced dynamics and control theory from Stanford       University.     — David Rice, west coast vice president:  Based in Los Angeles, Rice       brings nearly 20 years of sales and marketing experience in the       technology industry to Move.  Prior to joining Move, David was vice       president of sales and marketing at Limelight Networks, a leading       content delivery network. Before Limelight, David was a National Sales       Manager at Akamai Technologies where, he was instrumental in helping       Akamai develop partnerships with hosting, managed services and network       technology providers. David also served as general manager of       NaviPath, a CMGi infrastructure company focused on the Internet       Service Provider market where he secured business with top ISPs in the       industry. He also worked as director of PictureTel.     — Kevin Conlan, east coast vice president: Before joining Move Networks,       Mr. Conlan was a vice president of sales at ExtendMedia, which       provides a digital content services platform that enables content       rights holders and distributors to quickly create, manage, secure, and       monetize content services across broadband, TV and mobile devices. In       his career, Conlan has created a number innovative technology and       marketing programs, including a bi-coastal content distribution       network for HBO studios, and secured a global contract with TV Guide       and Lucent Technologies.
